COURSE DESCRIPTION
This four week course presents fundamental moral principles necessary to understand the social teachings of the Church as well as moral issues, with a particular focus on sexual ethics and life issues. Week One examines man as a free, intelligent being designed for eternal happiness. Week Two examines what it means for man to be a social person. Week Three examines man as a sexual being and Week Four looks at man called to respect human life. The presentation of the material related to the above topics is rooted in the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
The goal of this course is to introduce students to fundamental moral concepts so that the student is better able to understand and articulate the Church’s teaching on a variety of moral and social issues. By the conclusion of this course, the student ought to:
